Miss IndiaNZ – one of New Zealand’s most loved Bollywood celebrations – is about to get a fresh injection of glitz and glamour, thanks to an exciting new partnership.
Miss IndiaNZ producer Rhythm House has teamed up with top Indian fashion label House of SVARN to bring haute couture and designer gowns back to the much-loved annual pageant. In an event already famed for its colour, fashion and razzle dazzle, the addition of a designer gown section will elevate the pageant to a whole new level.
“It gives us immense pride to design the ethnic looks for this year’s Miss IndiaNZ contestants,” says Team SVARN (Ridhima Tuteja, Swati Nain and Vanna Daid)
“Miss IndiaNZ contestants are strong, beautiful, compassionate women who are ready to take on the world, and we will bring them a plethora of distinctive, unique gown choices that will celebrate their strengths.”
The return of designer dresses to MissIndiaNZ comes after a ten-year hiatus following the death of acclaimed designer Jeram Ramnini, whose spectacular creations were worn by contestants from 2002 to 2007.
Rhythm House founder Dharmesh Parikh is delighted to be bringing back some old-school glamour to the occasion.
“Miss IndiaNZ has always been about much more than beauty. It’s an event that’s designed to amaze and enthral – from the contestants themselves, through to the spectacular stage and lighting, and the singers, musicians and dancers. It’s a celebration of Kiwi-Indian culture, and by teaming up with House of SVARN, we are now also showcasing the very best of dazzling designer fashion that fuses the Indian and Kiwi cultures.,” says Dharmesh.
And this may be the start of something even more spectacular, with plans now in the pipeline for Rhythm House and House of SVARN to launch their very own Miss India Fashion week.
